Oracle 12c Patch JAN 2014

When you apply the Jan 2014 PSU to the 12.1.0.1.0 Grid and DB Home you only need to download one patch, this can be used to apply to the Grid and DB Home.

·         JAN 2014 PSU GRID INFRASTRUCTURE (12.1.0.1.2) 17735306

You will notice once you apply the patch that you will not see an update to the Clusterware Patch Set Update version it will remain as 12.1.0.1.1. The Database PSU version will be updated to 12.1.0.1.2. I believe this is correct and am confirming with Oracle Support.

Oracle Support confirmed.

It is expected that 12.1.0.1.2 GI PSU has no updates for GI.

According to the below document :
12.1.0.1 Grid Infrastructure Patch Set Updates - List of Fixes in each GI PSU (Doc ID 1591144.1)

"The GI component of 12.1.0.1.2 GIPSU is the same as the GI component of 12.1.0.1.1 GIPSU and so no bugs are listed in the table for 12.1.0.1.2 GIPSU"

So, there is no updates for GI & ACFS hence it remains 12.1.0.1.1.
